چکیده
Abstract Recently, the use of plastic products, such as polyethylene (PE) bottles and polypropylene (PP), has been significantly increased, which may lead to many environmental issues. Therefore, it is important find methods manage these waste materials without causing any ecological hazards. One wastes soil stabiliser materials. In this study, PE PP have used in form fibres. The effect stabilisation was evaluated through carrying out standard laboratory tests. These tests conducted on natural stabilised soils with four fibre contents (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%) weight. included compaction test, unconfined compressive strength (UCS) California Bearing Ratio (CBR) resilient modulus (Mr) all tests, content added two lengths, were 1.0 cm 2.0 cm. Laboratory test results revealed that pieces decrease maximum dry density (MDD) optimum moisture (OMC) soils, are required for construction embankments lightweight addition, there a significant improvement UCS by 76.4 96.6% both lengths fibres 57.4% 73.0% fibres, respectively. Results CBR demonstrated inclusion clayey improves deformation behaviour especially 4% cm, respectively, figure 185 150% PP, Furthermore, Mr mechanical properties improved an extent. For increase content, increased about 120% at PE. However, declined 3% content. material, shall be sought.

Evaluation of Geotechnical Properties of Local Clayey Soil Blended with Waste Materials
Nowadays, disposal of waste materials has become a matter of serious concern due to environmental and ecological issues. In this paper, an attempt is made to determine an optimum proportion mix suitable for geotechnical applications by blending the locally available clayey soil with sand, fly ash, tile waste and jute fibers. This optimum mix provides a cheaper construction material and helps in...
متن کاملEffects of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer on Geotechnical Properties of Clayey Soil
Soil reinforcement can be considered as the combination of two parts. One part is soil for compressive stress capacity and another part is some material such as geosynthetics such as steel belts and fibers for tensile stress capacity. Soil improvement is one of the useful methods to increase the strength parameters of the soil. The main goal of this study is to evaluate the effects of GFRP on t...
متن کاملEffects of Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polymer and Waste Polypropylene Plastic Particles on Geotechnical Properties of Clayey Soils for Using Subgrade in the Pavement
The fine-grained soil including the problematic ones can cause many difficulties in project accomplishment. Settlement and swelling are among the problems of the fine-grained soils. The present study compared the effects of the polypropylene waste plastic (PWP) and glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) on geotechnical properties of the clayey soils for the subgrade design. To this end, the PWP ...
